CIUDAD PERDIDA Colombia

            CIUDAD PERDIDA

GENERAL INFORMATION

It is a mountain range independent from the Andean system, with a height of 5775
meters over sea level, with all the thermal floors provided by its topography. Its
counterforts are habitat for three different indigenous tribes: Cogi, Ika and Sanha,
and for settlers who have installed on the hillsides during the last times. Urban
settlings of Tayrona culture are found there: Pueblito and Ciudad Perdida. Product of
the ample engineering and agriculture knowledge of Tayronas, Buritica 200, or "
Ciudad Perdida" is a complex of paved terraces and paths which link villages
together, retaining walls, wells, water tanks, and canals to regulate the courses of
rivers and water streams. There are remains of over 200 urban settlements of this
pre-Hispanic culture covered for centuries by the jungle.
